Outrage In Imo As Widow Locked In Late Husband’s Ambulance, Forced To Drink Bath Water

A heartbreaking incident in Awo-Omamma, Imo State, has left residents shocked after a widow was allegedly trapped inside her late husband’s ambulance and forced to drink the water used to bathe his body.

In a viral video shared on X (formally Twitter) by @ChuckErice, the woman was accused by her husband’s family of being responsible for his death. The cruel act was reportedly carried out as a “test of innocence” before the burial could proceed.

Many Nigerians have since reacted to the shocking incident, expressing anger and disbelief across social media. Some described it as “barbaric and heartbreaking,” while others called on the authorities to take swift action.

One social media user wrote, “This is pure evil. Nobody deserves to go through this kind of humiliation.” Another said, “Tradition should never be used as an excuse for cruelty. Justice must be served.”

The disturbing event has sparked outrage across social media, with many demanding justice for the widow.

It has also reignited conversations about the dangers of harmful traditions and the urgent need to protect women from dehumanizing practices in rural communities.
