Mbah’s defection: PDP not in coma – Party spokesman, Ologunagba
The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Debo Ologunagba, has declared that the party is not in coma.
Ologunagba made the remark in response to Governor Peter Mbah’s defection to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
On Tuesday, Mbah and his cabinet members officially defected from the PDP to the APC.
This comes Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State and Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State defected to the APC some few months back.
Reacting, the PDP spokesman said though the opposition party is battling with challenges, the governors exit won’t have any negative impact on the party.
Speaking on Arise Television’s ‘Prime Time’, last night, Ologunagba said the strength of the PDP lies in the people, not the governors.
He said, “The PDP is not in coma, it’s not in a vegetative state, yes we have challenges, some of which are external, more damages are the ones within but again, we are working that rope surely towards convention.”
