Enyimba’s unbeaten record in the current season of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) has ended following their 1-0 loss to Kun Khalifat Football Club of Owerri.
A lone goal scored in the 67th minute by Nwokorie Ebuka earned the newly promoted NPFL side the maximum three points against the former champions.
Kun Khalifat’s goal came from a buildup after a free kick in the Enyimba area, sending the Owerri crowd into celebration.
Also on Sunday, Abia Warriors defeated El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri 2-0 at the Umuahia Township Stadium.
Abia Warriors had previously lost 2-0 to Enugu Rangers in their last match.
