EPL: Why Liverpool lost 3-2 to Brentford – Arne Slot

Liverpool manager, Arne Slot, has criticized his players for not doing the basics as they lost 3-2 at Brentford on Saturday.

It was the Reds’ fourth consecutive defeat in the Premier League.

Outtara Dango opened the scoring for the hosts and doubled their advantage through Kevin Schade.

Liverpool pulled one back just before half time, thanks to Milos Kerkez.

But Brentford restored their two-goal lead from the penalty spot, before Mohamed Salah added a late consolation.

Speaking after the game, Slot said: “It’s every time a different problem that has cost us the game.

“Today, I don’t think we did the basics right. Too many duels were lost, too many second balls weren’t won.

“That was the main thing that we have to improve.”
