EPL: ‘They would not have lost’ – Hargreaves pinpoints what’s missing at Chelsea
Former Bayern Munich midfielder, Owen Hargreaves, has said that something is definitely missing at Chelsea.
This follows the Blues’ 2-1 Premier League defeat to Sunderland at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Chelsea took the lead through Alejandro Garnacho, but Sunderland fought back with goals from Wilson Isidor and Chemsdine Talbi.
Hargreaves noted that the Blues need an experienced player in the squad to help them get results in tight games.
“Chelsea need a Xhaka-type [experienced Sunderland midfielder] in there. If they did, they wouldn’t have lost that game today,” he said.
He added that there was no way the Blues could be counted among title challengers without experienced players in the squad.
The oldest player in Enzo Maresca’s current side is 28-year-old Tosin Adarabioyo.
