EPL: Jaap Stam predicts clubs to finish in top four this season

Former Manchester United defender, Jaap Stam, has predicted how the Premier League’s top teams will finish this season.

The former Dutch international made a surprising choice by including Manchester United among the top four, despite their poor start to the campaign.

The Red Devils have managed only three wins in their first seven league matches and currently sit 10th in the table. Their next Premier League fixture is a difficult one — away to Liverpool on Sunday.

Stam maintained that, despite United’s struggles, they can still finish in the top four this season.

As it stands, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are top of the table ahead of this weekend’s matches.

“I would pick Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, and Manchester United for the top four, with Chelsea in close contention,” Stam told Sky Bet.

“These five have the squads and consistency to compete for the Champions League places. Arsenal can win the league this season.”

Manchester United and Liverpool will clash in the Premier League this weekend.
