ADC Picks Najeem Salam As Governorship Candidate For Osun Election

Najeem Folasayo Salam, a former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, has been chosen by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to run for the state’s governorship in 2026.

Following the end of the ADC governorship primary election, Salam, the party’s lone candidate, surfaced on Monday.

Salam received all of the legitimate votes cast during the primary during the exercise, which was carried out with delegates chosen from within the state.

Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, the chairman of the Osun ADC governorship primary election, announced the outcome and provided an explanation of the voting procedure.

Nwajiuba stated, “There were 535 delegates in total, comprising 482 from local government areas and wards, while the remaining 53 were special delegates.”

He clarified that the same number of votes were cast and that 528 delegates were authorized to participate in the election.
