ADC asks Atiku, others to register as membership registration begins

The ‎Adamawa State Chapter of African Democratic Congress, ADC, has urged prominent members who are yet to officially register their membership of the party to do so.

Chairman of the party in the state, Shehu Yohanna, at the party state headquarters in Yola, mentioned former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Lawal Babachidr among those that the party expects to register.

Yohanna, delivering his address during the exercise commencing the membership registration drive, told the two and the many others who have identified with the party to go to their respective wards to register their membership.

He described being duly registered and given a membership card as the only way members can legitimately exercise influence within the party.

‎Yohanna said the ADC in Adamawa State is poised to take its place as a leading political force, urging all coalition partners and stakeholders to participate in the fresh registration of party membership.

He said, ‎“ADC has come to stay because it has been in existence since 2002. Today, by the special grace of God, coalition members have chosen ADC, but they must come and register formally.

‎“Even our coalition leaders like Atiku and Babachir must go back to their wards to register. Until then, they cannot be regarded as bona fide members with a voice in the party.”

Yohanna, expressing optimism that the ADC, with its coalition structure, has the capacity to offer Nigerians a credible alternative, said the party has the wagon effect to rescue the country from its socio-economic decline.
