Suspected terrorist groups have launched a fresh wave of attacks targeting critical infrastructure in Borno State, with bridges being the primary focus of destruction.

According to information shared by a security and intelligence platform, Eons Intelligence, on its verified X handle on Wednesday, the renewed offensive appeared calculated to cripple mobility and restrict military operations in the affected areas.

The first confirmed attack was on the Manda Fuma bridge near Biu, a strategic route crucial for both civilian and military transit. In a statement posted on X, Eons Intelligence revealed, “Terrorists have resumed attacks on critical infrastructure. The Manda Fuma bridge near Biu is the first verified casualty.”

In addition to the Manda Fuma bridge, unconfirmed but emerging reports indicated that the bridge in Alaramma has also been brought down. Furthermore, the bridge connecting the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Wajiroko to Sabon Gari has been reportedly destroyed—severely impacting the movement of security forces and logistical support in the area.

The military was yet to officially confirm or deny the attacks as of the time of filing this report.
