Tolu Arokodare Shines In 7-Goal Thriller Against Chelsea, Gives Wolves Coach Pereira Food For Thought

Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare scored for Wolverhampton in their 4-3 loss to Chelsea at the Molineux.

Arokodare returned to Wolves’ starting lineup when they welcomed Chelsea to the Molineux for their EFL Cup round of 16 fixture.

Going into the game, Wolves were on a five-game winless streak, with their last victory coming in September against Everton in the EFL Cup. That was the game that Arokodare scored his first goal for Wolves.

Unfortunately for Wolves, they had a poor start, with Andrey Santos and Tyrique George scoring in the opening 15 minutes to make it 2-0.

By halftime, it was already three to Chelsea, with Estevao scoring in the 41st minute.

It looked like the game was almost done, but Arokodare gave his team some hope at the start of the first half, as he scored to make it 3-1. The Super Eagles striker received a pass from Hwang Hee-Chan on the left side of Wolves and struck a wicked curler past Filip Jorgensen.

Then, 25 minutes later, Wolves struck again. This time, through David Moller Wolfe. But Jamie Gittens put the game to sleep with a worldie in the 89th minute, making it 4-2.

Wolfe scored the third for Wolverhampton Wanderers in the 92nd minute, but it was too little too late, as Chelsea took the 4-3 win.

Tolu Arokodare Makes A Case For Himself

Tolu Arokodare scoring against Chelsea is a very good one for him, especially as he is not considered as a starter at Wolves.

Now, he will be hoping that coach Victor Pereira will reward him with more game time.

The current first choice at the club is Strand Larsen. But if Arokodare continues scoring, he can displace him.
