Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has dismissed rumours about his health, insisting he is in perfect shape and full of energy.
In an interview with BBC Pidgin, Wike addressed widespread speculation that he collapsed and was flown abroad for urgent medical attention, describing the reports as completely false.
The former Rivers Governor also responded to criticism about his frequent public appearances with his son, saying there is nothing wrong with being seen in public with his child.
He maintained that spending time with his family is natural and should not be a subject of public debate.
Wike said: “As I’m talking to you, do I look like somebody that is sick?” he asked.
“Looking at me, will you think I’m above 30 years? I’m very well.”
Responding to questions about whether he is preparing his son for political life, Wike said, “What’s wrong with that?”
