Another residential building has been consumed by fire in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
According to Daily Post, it was gathered that the incident occurred on Friday at Ori-Eni Apapa Ojeomo Road in Moniya area of Ibadan, destroying properties worth millions of naira.
No life was lost during the incident.
The Chairman of Oyo State Fire Service, Hon Maroof Akinwande confirmed the incident on Friday.
Akinwande said, “The fire personnel led by ACFS Adedeji (Mrs) promptly deployed to the scene of incident.
“On arrival it was a private residential building of three (3) bedrooms flat engulfed by fire.
“We swiftly swung into action and restricted the fire from spreading to nearby buildings and properties. The fire was jointly extinguished with Federal Fire Service.
“The cause of the fire was as a result of overheating of cooking appliance plugged in the kitchen unattended, ignited to nearby combustibles and set the building ablaze.
“No casualty was recorded but properties worth million of naira was destroyed by fire. The fire service was able to save all the nearby buildings and properties from the devastating fire”.
The incident occurred few hours after a residential building was engulfed by fire in Ogbomoso.
