EPL: Alan Shearer hails ‘clever’ Chelsea star after 3-0 win over Forest

Former Newcastle United star, Alan Shearer, has hailed a ‘clever’ Chelsea star for after the Blues’ 3-0 win at Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Chelsea scored all the goals in the second-half at the City Ground through Josh Acheampong, Pedro Neto and Reece James.

The defeat lead Nottingham Forest to sack Ange Postecoglou just minutes after full-time.

Enzo Maresca made three changes at half-time as the tried to turn things around. He brought on striker Marc Guiu in one of the changes.

Shearer noted that bringing on a more natural No.9 like Guiu greatly improved Chelsea’s performance.

He told Match of the Day, “Not only did he [Maresca] bring Jamie Gittens and Moises Caicedo on to bring a bit of solidity, he brought Guiu on.

“You can see the difference. Guiu’s the centre-forward, he’s running in behind, and all of a sudden, it changes.

“He makes such a clever run, again making it difficult for the Forest defence, they’re having to think again.
