The lawmaker representing Abia North Senatorial District, Orji Uzor Kalu, has said that despite that the Igbo needs presidency, his own choice is the incumbent president Bola Tinubu.
Orji Kalu made this statement on Wednesday, while responding to questions in an interview on ‘Politics Today’, a programme on Channels Television.
His comment is coming as the country gathers momentum towards the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
“Igbo needs presidency, yes. But I’m caged up in a party where I have signed to renominate president Tinubu.
“The party I belong to has chosen a presidential candidate which is president Tinubu. We have made a decision as a party to field Tinubu for the second term even though I feel it’s for Igbo president, those thoughts are no longer feasible,” he said.
