2026 WCQ: Egyptian referee Omar to take charge of Super Eagles vs Cheetahs

Egyptian official Amin Mohamed Omar will be at the centre when the Super Eagles take on neighbours Benin Republic in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

The matchday 10 encounter will hold at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo next week Tuesday.

Omar’s compatriots Mahmoud Abouelregal, Ahmed Tawfik Ali and Mahmoud Moustafa Elbana will serve as assistant referee 1, assistant referee 2 and fourth official respectively.

Jason Joseph Damoo from Seychelles will serve as referee assessor; Ghanaian Prosper Harrison Addo will be the commissioner and; Xolile Vilakati from eSwatini will work as security officer.

The highly anticipated encounter will kick-off at 5pm Nigerian time.

Nigeria and Benin Republic are still in contention to qualify for the mundial.
