2026 WCQ: Benin star Dossou upbeat of victory against Super Eagles

Benin Republic midfielder Jodel Dossou says the Cheetahs are determined to secure a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, DAILY POST reports.
Gernot Rohr’s side top the Group C standings with 17 points going into their final game of the qualifiers against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
A win of draw would be enough for the West Africans to book their place at the global soccer fiesta for the first time depending on the outcome of the game between South Africa and Rwanda.
Dossou declared that they will fight hard to actualise their objective.
“We have our destiny in our own hands. It will be an electric match, Nigeria’s last chance. But we won’t let ourselves be pushed around either,” Dossou was quoted by Mega Sports.
“We’ll do everything we can to get a positive result and keep dreaming.”
Benin Republic will be away to Nigeria at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo next week Tuesday.
